Shes Back!

Most of you new guys don't know this truck but its what I originally got into the family with. Its a 1970 Chevy C/10 restored from the ground up. Powder coated frame, drop spindles and springs, 350 sbc with th350. Last year I was selling it to a guy just to basically get rid of it because i was hurting for money. Well the tide has turned and I went and repoed it the other day...as in repo, I mean I had to be pulled by my little brother for 30 miles down dirt roads and steep grades with a 20 ft chain lol. The guy i was selling it to, trashed the truck. When i found it, it had a damn cb antenna on the roof and a damn mattress in the bed. stereo head unit is gone, pcv valve is missing which has cause oil to coat the engine bay (yay for no rust!) and my center console is in 3 pieces, its running, but not moving. Carb needs rebuilt, trans needs gone through, or replaced. But anyways, Id love to drive it to Sparks 9 but i don't think ill make that deadline. More pics to come, to show how ran down this truck is.

The trans is more than likely shot. I'm going to do a 4L80M, but since i have a semi-functional truck, I'm going to use the 5.3 from Latrine and bolt it to the 4l80 and stab it at once. I may eventually put it on air! I'll use the stock rear suspension and just change the pinion angle.

this is the cheap way to do it. I would suggest you build a different link set up. the stock link bars are not designed for that range of motion and I have seen several of them snap at the ends because of it. Just my .02 if you're going to do something do it right the first time..

Well I've almost pinpointed why it doesn't move. It's either torque converter or pump. I'm leaning further towards pump due to lack of obnoxious noises. Me and my lil bro will pull it out and rebuild it and replace the pump, while rebuilding the Holley carb. Wish I had the time and money to throw the 5.3 in it, but I just need a ride right now.

Checked the pressure. Nothing at all. Nothing coming out of the oil cooler lines. Trans is coming out after sparks and I'll be replacing the pump. In the meantime I've been rebuilding the carburetor. The 3rd carb for this truck...

This is about all it does. Idles. That is all. Sounds good at idle, but doesn't accept any throttle and doesn't do any thing in reverse drive or any of the manual shift gears
