1985 Toyota P/U...

1985 yota stock 22R 5 speed
*4Runner front clip / 4x4 bed
*3" static drop sitting on 18" KMC's
*Original factory interior except for the steering wheel and JVC CD

Update: Changed up the chrome wheel for this black one...

After tune up, battery, rear main seal, new clutch, transmission seals & gaskets, front brakes, lowerered, rims and tires, this has been my daily driver.
Just changed out the front fuel pump this past weekend and threw in a new air filter for the hell of it.
The guy who painted it didn't primer and paint is peeling in spots so new paint is definitely in the future.

Plans are; 2jz swap, VERY minor body work and paint (Pearl white with graffiti graphics)

Thanks. I love this truck and even if i did nothing else to it i don't think i could ever get rid of it. It was stock height with wide american racing wheels when i got it. The 2jz is gonna run around $10,000 so gotta save up for it but in the meantime i think i'll get the minor body work and paint done.

Shane and i did several searches and priced everything i would need to do it the way i want it done and that's what everything added up to. When i first started thinking about getting it done, i figured it would run about 6K but after adding everything up it was just under 10.

You dont understand how picky this guy is.. Hahaha, But we are not going stock turbos with it, goin bigger and better.. Good used engine with tranny and harness range anywhere 1800.00 plus (you get what you pay for) upgraded full turbo kit between 2000.00- 8000.00. Than shipping, rearend, propper suspension, instilation.. It all adds up pumpkin lol

I'm aware it adds up but you could do an ls9 swap for 10k. I was just trying to figure out if he was saying motor alone was 10k

also not sure of the availability of it but a 1j build would be really cool and closer to period correct. Just a thought. do you still have the shell? I think I am the only one who still has a shell. :(

I'm wanting this truck to be as new and up to date underneath but keep the old school look so going with the 2. Yes, i still have the shell. I took it off one time 'cause i needed to haul my riding mower and thought i would snap a pic while it was off then put it right back on. I think it looks ok without it but i like it allot better with it on. There's something about the solid shells that make these trucks look sexy.

This and I was just wondering I have not seen many 1 j swapped anything. and that thing looks dope with the solid shell. they offer one for my truck through one company but they are special order and cost a fortune. there just wasn't a market for solid side crew cab shells I guess which blows dicks.

Yeah that def sucks big ones, dude. These solid shells were really popular with surfers in southern Cali. back in the late 70's to mid 80's. I love 'em just as much now as i did then.
